PEMB Design & Detailing Draftsman (MBS)

FIM is seeking a full-time, on-site PEMB Design & Detailing Draftsman (MBS) in Seminole, Texas, to work in a fast-paced, established organization. This position supports the Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) workflow from early job setup through final detailing packages used by production and purchasing. Work includes building and revising projects in MBS, producing drawing sets, and resolving clashes, connection/detail issues, and constructability concerns prior to release. The role also maintains consistent documentation, file organization, and adherence to internal standards while coordinating with Engineering and other departments as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build and revise MBS jobs for quotes, approvals, and revisions

  • Create preliminary and final drawing packages (plans, elevations, sections, key details)

  • Perform detailing/constructability checks and fix issues before release

  • Support revisions, RFIs, and document control through the project cycle

  • Maintain job folders, naming, and deliverable packages for shop and purchasing

  • Coordinate with Engineering, PM, Purchasing, and Production to keep jobs on schedule


Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy/quality

  • Able to read and interpret construction/structural drawings (or learn quickly)

  • Comfort working within standardized file structures, naming, and checklists

  • Basic computer proficiency; Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Must pass pre-employment and monthly random drug tests

  • Hands-on MBS design/detailing experience (or strong PEMB detailing background) (preferred)

  • CAD/drafting experience (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) (preferred)

  • Understanding of building-code driven requirements and industry standards (e.g., IBC / ASCE 7 load criteria) (preferred)

  • Manufacturing, fabrication, or construction experience; understands shop/field execution (preferred)
